E.M. Kerkman

E. M. Kerkman, recently graduated from Hamilton College with a BA in Creative Writing, is primarily known for her surreal, apocalyptic short stories. Her works have appeared in Asimov’s Magazine, Red Weather, Modern Elixir, the 2021 Change the World anthology, and elsewhere. She is an alumnus of young writers workshops such as ALPHA, the Kenyon Young Writers Workshop, and the Iowa Young Writers Studio, and her short stories have won the 2024 Dell Award, First Runner-Up for the 2025 Dell Award, a 2021 YoungArts Merit Award, and a 2021 American Voices nomination, among others.
