Q. Do I need to sign up for an account before I can buy your products?
A.
No sign in required. Just add titles to your cart, then click Proceed to Checkout (or the Paypal Express button).

Q. What is your refund policy?
A.
Customers have 30 days to request a refund. Email Jason Sizemore with your order number. Although not required, we would like to know the reason you want a refund so that we can further provide better customer satisfaction.

Q. How do I use a coupon?
A.
Add the book(s) you want to your shopping cart. Continue to checkout. After you enter your address, a summary screen listing your ordered items and shipping costs will appear. There will be a field labeled “Have a discount? Enter it here:”, that appears at the top of this screen. Enter your coupon code and click “Apply”. The prices in your shopping cart should reflect your coupon discount.

Q. Is my personal information safe?
A.
Yes! Apex does not ask for or store any financial information. Credit cards are processed securely via our merchant account. We do store some minimal information about you in order to send you your books (your name and email address, newsletter preferences, and shipping address if applicable) but this information is kept private. The only time we ever share information is when you purchase an Apex Magazine subscription. We give your name, email address, and preferred eBook format to our subscriber service provider. Furthermore, our eCommerce system is provided by Shopify, a PCI-compliant cart.

Q. What about your newsletter?

We use Mailchimp as our newsletter service. Anytime you want to unsubscribe, go here and click the unsubscribe link. Also, per the US CAN-SPAM act, every newsletter sent out contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. Our newsletter is sent out once every week or two and contains major announcements of sales or book releases. Go here if you'd like to signup!

Q. Are your eBooks encrypted?
A.
No. We sell DRM-free non-encrypted ebooks in PDF, epub, and mobi formats. All three versions come in a zip file via a download link from our eBook library manager.

Q. What if I need a different format, such as LIT or RocketBook?
A.
No problem. Email Jason Sizemore and we can do a free custom conversion for you.

Q. Where’s my eBook?
A.
After you order, you should receive an automated email receipt. In this email will be links to your ordered digital books. Be careful, as you are allotted three downloads. If you don't receive this email (be sure to check your spam folder in case it landed there), or for some reason the download links do not work, contact Jason or Lesley.

Q. I misplaced/lost/deleted my eBook by mistake! Can I get another copy?
A. Yes. Email Jason or Lesley along with your original order number (if you have it... if not, we can probably find your order in our system).

Q. I downloaded an eBook, but I don't own a reading device such as a Kindle or Nook. How do I read it?

Q. I bought an eBook but all I got was a lousy ZIP that won’t expand on my Mac. What do I do?
A.
Try using a different archive utility such as The Unarchiver (it’s free and open-source).

Q. Can I get a refund on my Apex Magazine subscription?
A.
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at the address above. If you cancel outside of 30 days from date of order, you will be refunded your payment minus the issues you have received.

Q. The download links in my email are missing!
A.
If you use a script-blocking plugin such as NoScript, please deactivate it before shopping as your download links may not display correctly.
