Ordering

Hey, what's this about free shipping?

All orders of $70 or greater will receive free domestic USPS media mail shipping.

When will my order ship?

We try to process all orders are processed within three business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.

What are your shipping options and rates?

We use the United States Postal Service for all our deliveries. The three primary services we use are as follows:

  • Media Mail—Least expensive but slowest option. (2-9 days)
  • Ground Advantage—Usually takes 2-5 days.
  • Priority Mail—Most expensive, but the fastest. (2 to 3 days) Prices vary depending on order location. The only option that includes shipping insurance (free up to $50).

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. 

The US Postal Service provides this useful website for calculating what it costs to ship based on weight, location, and mail service.

International shipping is so expensive! Is there anything I can do?

We agree. All the major mail carriers, including the USPS, charge outrageous rates for international shipping. Apex has no control over these rates and can't do much, if anything, to help.

We recommend using a third party retail vendor. Canada has Chapters and Indigo. The UK has Waterstones. Country specific Amazon shops will have our books as well.

But if you can afford the international shipping, we will ship to most countries in the world.

We use the United States Postal Service for our international shipping.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Apex is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a USPS tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

If you haven’t received your order within 10 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at jason@apexbookcompany.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

Who prints your books?

Apex Books uses Sheridan Printing for our offset titles. For our POD titles, we use a mix of Amazon KDP and Ingram Spark.

What kind of packaging do you use to ship your books?

For single book orders, we use heavy duty Kraft padded mailers. For orders of two or more books, we use heavy duty Kraft corrugated boxes and recycled paper stuffed inside to keep your items from becoming damaged.

Returns

What is your Return Policy?

We accept returns up to 14 days after delivery. If the item is unused and in its original condition, we will refund the full order amount minus the shipping costs for the return. 

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at jason@apexbookcompany.com with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.

My package was damaged by the USPS? What do I do?

Apex cannot control anything that happens to your shipment once it leaves our warehouse. The postal service, while a glorious government service, is not perfect. But it is rare for our customers to receive a damaged package.

Media mail packages tend to receive the roughest handling by the USPS. To help mitigate the risk of damage use Ground Advantage or Priority Mail.

Payment

Do you offer cash on delivery?

Apex Book Company currently does not offer Cash on Delivery (COD) as a payment option. However, we provide a secure and convenient online payment system using the Shopify payment gateway that provides a seamless shopping experience.

What is Shop Pay?

Shop Pay is an accelerated checkout option designed to enhance the shopping experience for customers on Shopify. It allows customers to save their email address, credit card, and shipping and billing information, making the checkout process faster and more convenient. Shop Pay provides a seamless and efficient checkout experience for customers, especially those who have already opted in to Shop Pay on any Shopify store.
