David Bowles

David Bowles lives in the Río Grande Valley of south Texas where he divides his time between writing, reviewing, and teaching at the University of Texas. Recipient of awards from the Texas Institute of Letters and the Texas Associated Press, he is the author of several books, including The Smoking Mirror, Border Lore, and Flower, Song, Dance: Aztec and Mayan Poetry. His work has also been published in venues such as Metamorphoses, Rattle, Translation Review, Eye to the Telescope, James Gunn’s Ad Astra, SQ Mag, and Concho River Review.
