What we publish

We release in two forms: a quarterly eBook issue, and a gradual release of the entire issue online between quarterly releases.

Alongside genre short fiction, every issue carries interviews with authors and nonfiction essays about current matters in the field.

Our history

2005

We launched with Apex Science Fiction & Horror Digest.

2009

We went digital and released the first issue of Apex Magazine.

2013

Released our 50th issue.

2014

Our fiction received its first Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award nominations.

2020

Released our 100th issue.

2021
