Apex Magazine Compilation Anthology Funded! Now on to stretch goals!

Yesterday the Apex Magazine 2021 compilation anthology Kickstarter hit the initial funding goal! 163 fabulous people helped us raise the over $6,000 needed to cover the cost of bringing this anthology into the world. 350+ pages, 48 stories, author/editor notes. It is going to be beautiful!

Thank you so much to everyone who has backed this project, shared the Kickstarter, and been as excited as we are to make this book a reality!

We are just over halfway through our Kickstarter campaign, which means we have loads of time to reach for our stretch goals!

Our first stretch goal will be unlocked at $9,000: paying all of the authors included in the anthology an additional $0.01 per word for their stories. Apex Magazine always pays pro-rates for the rights of our stories—including the right to publish a compilation anthology—but being able to pay our authors more, making sure authors know that we appreciate them and value their work, is important to us.

Our second stretch goal comes fast on the heels of the first. At $9,500, Justin Stewart will create spot art to accompany all 48 stories. We love being able to enhance stories with artwork.

At $11,000, we will include full page black and white artwork to accompany four of the stories.

At $13,000, we’ll include full page black and white artwork for eight of the stories!

At $24,000, we will be able to create a hardcover edition of Apex Magazine 2021! This would be like a dream come true! A hardcover with all of the covers from every issue of Apex Magazine in 2021 reprinted in full color. Spot art for every story, plus eight full-page b&w illustrations to accompany stories. This hardcover edition would be truly beautiful. Something any fan of Apex Magazine would be thrilled to own!

14 days to go. How many stretch goals can we unlock?
