New website design--things sure look different around here...

Greetings readers!

We have rolled out an entirely new website design for our users. For the longest time, we dreamed of connecting all three arms of the business—Apex Book Company, Apex Magazine, and Violet Lichen—under one banner. But the trick was how to do so while maintaining the branding image of each arm. We also wanted to present a website that has improved accessibility.

So we decided to make three landing pages, one for each brand. They're all connected by a small ribbon menu at the top of the page that adjusts according to which brand you're visiting.

Each arm will have its own URL, just like before:

This much is obvious, as are the design changes, so why a dedicated post about it all? The reasons are twofold.

First, we want our users to know that if you see a bug, please report it on our contact page. Or if you notice a feature is missing that would make your browsing life much easier, let us know!

Second, we want those who use screen readers to be able to use our site. While our Axe and Lighthouse accessibility scores lead us to believe we've taken care of the basics, if there are areas for improvement, please let us know.

We hope you find the new designs to be an improvement on what we had before. Happy reading!
