Dystopian Science Fiction Novel Acquisition: Nexhuman by Italian author Francesco Verso

LEXINGTON, KY, September 12 — Apex Book Company is pleased to announce the acquisition of Nexhuman by Italian author Francesco Verso. Nexhuman is set in an imaginary city endangered by the spread of “kipple” (garbage & trash) that overruns everything. Most of its residents make a living by recycling and reusing dumb materials, including fifteen-year-old Peter, a disabled “trashformer.”

Offering more details about Nexhuman, Francesco says

“The novel is an examination of obsession, post-humanism, transhumanism, ecology, and inexplicable love.”

Originally published as Livido in Italy by Delos Books where it was the winner of the 2013 Odissea Award and 2014 Italia Award for Best Italian Science Fiction Novel, this is the American English language debut of Nexhuman.
