Twitter chat with Apex Author Jennifer Pelland
by Kylie Grant
Ever wanted to ask an author a question without standing in a long queue and getting so nervous that your mouth becomes a desert, complete with sidewinder tracks and tumbleweed? Dying to know how an Apex author works, or where they get their inspiration for their award-winning writing from?
Then please do come and join us for a twitter chat with the brilliant Jennifer Pelland, short story writer extraordinaire and soon-to-be published novelist. All you will need is a twitter account, and some marvelous questions or comments. It all starts on August 6th, 2011 at 3pm EST, please do check what time this is where you are; there is nothing like arriving at a party when all that is left is a shabby amount of food and a drunk admirer. Our hashtag will be #apexchat.
If you need any more information, or you would like to send in a question to ask Jennifer if you won’t be able to make the chat, please don’t hesitate to contact me at kyliegrant121@gmail.com. Twitter chats usually last two hours, so don’t worry if you can’t make the start, or the middle, but do come along before the end! Without further ado I will leave Jennifer Pelland to both excite and entice you with her own words about herself. If any of it catches your eye or you would like to know more, be sure to be there on August 6th at 3p. EST.

Jennifer Pelland was first published by Apex back in 2005, when they ran her story "Big Sister/Little Sister" in Issue 3 of their magazine. Since then, she's had six other original stories appear in the magazine and been published in three of their original anthologies, plus has been reprinted by them more times than she cares to count. Apex released her short story collection UNWELCOME BODIES back in 2008, and will soon be releasing her debut novel, MACHINE. Her contribution to the DARK FAITH anthology -- "Ghosts of New York" -- garnered Jennifer her second Nebula nomination. To counteract the effects of so much sedentary writing time, Jennifer took up belly dance several years back, and is enjoying it so much that it's become her primary form of artistic expression, knocking writing down to number two. Amateur radio theater is holding steady at number three. For more, visit www.jenniferpelland.com
