I’m always looking for great books to read and love getting suggestions and recommendations. Yesterday I sent out a call on the Apex Facebook and Twitter pages, asking what books you would add to a list of great summer reads. This is what you told me.

On Facebook:

The Year of the StormChris Irvin suggested North American Lake Monsters by Nathan Ballingrud and The Year of the Storm by John Mantooth.

John Lovero III added The Wide, Carnivorous Sky and Other Monstrous Geographies by John Langan and A History of Stone and Steel by Christopher Fisher.

DeAnna Knippling said Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart.

From Twitter:

The Shining GirlsThe Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes was suggested by @HaralambiMarkov and @jazstory.

@HaralambiMarkov also recommended The Brides of Rollrock Island by Margo Lanagan, while @jazstory mentioned The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.

@OccultDetective said Love is the Law by Nick Mamatas should be on the list.

And finally @aleixdorca added One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

And that’s it.

Ten fantastic books suggested by you, the Apex readers. Next time your looking for something to read, why not read one of these.
