If you’re a book geek like me, owning signed copies of books by your favorite authors is pretty cool.
You know what’s even better?
Getting to read a book before it comes out for everybody else.
This is why Apex is starting the Early 50 Program. We want to give our most loyal readers an opportunity to receive a couple of cool perks such as autographed books and the chance to “Read It Before You Can Buy It.”
When we release a new title, Apex will make available 50 copies (never more, never less) of the book for early order. Your book will be signed by the author (and much of the time, the artist as well). Even better, you will receive your book 2 to 4 weeks before the title is available on Apex or any of our vendor websites.
Heck, you even receive the eBook (ePub, mobi, and PDF versions without DRM) when you place the order, so you can start to read immediately!
The opening of the Early 50 Program for each title will be announced first in our newsletter. Newsletter members will have 7 days to place their early order. After the 7 days, we will announce on the Apex blog the availability of any Early 50 copies still available. Once the 50 are sold, the book will not be available until its official release date.
Ah, very sneaky, are ya?
We can share this much with you. Our first Early 50 book will be What Makes You Die by Tom Piccirilli. Pic’s book is slated to come out March 19th. We expect to have the book ready for Early 50 readers and shipped by March 5th. That gives the early readers a two week head start on the regular release (also, their copy will be signed and they will receive the eBook). If we aren’t able to ship the Early 50 orders until, say, March 10th, then the official release date of What Makes You Die will become March 24th. The goal is to make sure Early 50 readers ALWAYS have their book at least 2 weeks before release.
The second Early 50 book will be Plow the Bones by Douglas Warrick. We expect that one to be ready in advance and there should be no delays.
The third Early 50 book will be Desper Hollow by Elizabeth Massie. Again, this one is rolling along on schedule.
